In short

HumBacker does not collect your personal data. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. The app does not use the internet. What you make and record stays on your device unless you choose to export or share it.

Who we are

HumBacker is made by Magic Zebra Ltd, a company registered in the United Kingdom (magiczebra.co.uk). This policy covers the HumBacker app and this website.

The app

  • No account. You do not sign up or sign in, and the app does not ask for your name, email address or any other details.
  • No internet. The app does not ask Android for internet access, and it does not send anything to Magic Zebra Ltd or anyone else.
  • No analytics or ads. There are no analytics, crash-reporting or advertising services in the app.
  • Microphone (optional). HumBacker asks whether you want to use the microphone, and you can skip it. It is used for the tuner, the looper, and humming or beatboxing an idea in. The sound is processed on your device and is not sent anywhere. You can turn the permission off at any time in Android’s settings; the band, the songs and everything else that does not listen keep working.
  • Your songs and recordings (saved songs, grooves, loops and settings) are stored on your device, in the app’s own storage. They leave it only if you export or share them, and then they go where you choose to send them.
  • No cloud backup. The app turns off Android’s automatic backup, so its storage is not copied to your Google account. Uninstalling HumBacker, or clearing its storage in Android’s settings, deletes everything it has stored. Files you exported or shared are not affected.

If you install HumBacker from Google Play, Google handles the download and any purchase under its own privacy policy. Magic Zebra Ltd may see the reports Google Play gives every developer, such as install counts; these do not identify you to us.

This website

This website uses no cookies, analytics or third-party scripts, and its fonts are served from the site itself. The company that hosts it may keep standard server logs (such as IP addresses) for security and to keep the site running.

Children

Because HumBacker collects no personal data, it collects none from children either.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. If the app ever needs to collect data, this page will say so first.
